Special legislation has been passed in Iceland which aims "to
enhance domestic culture and promote the history and nature
of Iceland" by temporarily supporting motion pictures and television programmes produced in Iceland.
Reimbursements are offered for film and TV production costs incurred in Iceland. Producers can apply for reimbursements from the State Treasury of 20% of the costs incurred in the production of films and television programmes in Iceland.
When more than 80% of the total production cost of a motion picture or television programme is incurred in Iceland, the reimbursement is calculated on the basis of the total production cost incurred within the European Economic Area.
The reimbursement scheme does not cover production of commercials or music videos.

> PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS
A valid passport is necessary for visitors coming to Iceland, except for citizens of Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
Instead of presenting passports, citizens of the following countries may enter Iceland by their national identity cards issued by the competent authorities in their countries of origin: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain Switzerland.

The mean annual temperature in the capital, Reykjavík, is -0.5°C in January and 10.3°C in July. Wintertime in Iceland is from November-March, spring is April-May, summer is in June, July and August and autumn is September-October.
The warm currents of the Gulf Stream wash the shores of Iceland, keeping the coast generally free of ice all year round.
Precipitation in Reykjavík is mainly rain, although snow, sleet and rain can fall during the winter months.
Annual rainfall is 780 mm (31"), which is less than in New York (1,194 mm/47"), but similar to London (737 mm/29").
